I’ve been to a lot of model shops, this one just stands out from them all. The service you receive is brilliant. We always make time when visiting York to visit the shop, you can’t not! A great selection of models and scenics. I purchased a Hornby Rocket from them a few years back, it had a fault where it wouldn’t go in reverse when we added a DCC chip, they had a look at it for us, found it was a fault with the model and replaced it there and then with another new model. Excellent service. One if the chaps behind the till even works on the steam locomotives on the mainline so is always a pleasure to talk to. Everyone is friendly, great displays in the shop window, very good value for money!

Monk Bar Model shop in my view an outstanding shop with a great team. Always very helpful, great customer focus friendly and interested. I visit regularly, my area of interest has been aircraft model kits and Corgi Aviation. The shop is well stocked with ranges including trains, planes and automobiles., figures and all modelling accessories.

It is always a pleasure to enter the shop situated against the old city walls in York. There are often a mix of people with questions and chatting to the staff, a great environment, just a top shop!
