Brands Hatch Indy is one of those circuits that gets straight to the point. It’s short, intense and completely unforgiving if you fall out of rhythm for even a moment. Because the lap is so compact, everything happens quickly, and you are always right on the edge of needing to piece every section together cleanly.
The run through Paddock Hill Bend is what gives the place so much character. It’s one of those corners that feels every bit as dramatic from inside the car as it looks from the outside, and it really sets the tone for the rest of the lap. From there, it’s all about carrying momentum, staying tidy and making sure you do not give anything away through the slower sections.
What I like about Brands is that it always feels alive. There’s history in the place, there’s atmosphere, and on a circuit like the Indy layout the racing tends to feel close and intense from the first lap. I’m really looking forward to taking Team Tofty there in May.
