Coming back to Donington later in the season on the Grand Prix circuit should feel like a completely different challenge to the opener. The same character is still there — the flow, the commitment and the sense that the circuit rewards confidence — but the longer layout adds another layer to it and makes the lap feel more complete.
Donington always has that brilliant natural rhythm to it, and that’s a big part of why drivers enjoy it so much. On the GP circuit, though, there’s more to manage and more ways to either build a lap or lose one. It becomes even more important to stay tidy, keep your momentum and put each section together properly.
By August, the championship picture should be looking much clearer, which means every race starts to matter even more. That makes a circuit like this especially exciting, because it’s a proper test at a stage in the season when points can feel even more valuable. I’m really looking forward to being back there with Team Tofty.
