Croft is a circuit with a really interesting mix to it. There are sections where you can attack and carry speed, but there are also places where you need to stay patient, get the car settled and make sure you are not giving away time by being too eager. That balance is a big part of what makes it such a good test.
It’s one of those tracks where rhythm matters, but so does discipline. You need to be neat through the technical areas, strong under braking and always thinking about how to maximise the next section of the lap. When you get it right, it feels properly satisfying because the lap asks quite a lot of you in different ways.
By early September, you are very much into that stage of the season where every weekend carries extra significance. That always adds something to the atmosphere, and at Croft I think that should make for a really competitive couple of races. I’m looking forward to taking Team Tofty there.
If you’re following the Team Tofty journey this year, let me know you’re watching by RSVPing — it would be brilliant to know who’s cheering us on from home.
