fac
My e-link emits a form of high frequency? sound when powered only, and when operational. Is this normal? (operating within windows 8.1) It is not overwhelmingly loud but noticable with low background noise.
Nick_
Mine does too, but it is quieter than the fan noise from my various PCs near it
Yelrow
Is it a wolf whistle. joking apart, mine used to do the same, but , still works ok. john
fac
Interesting to note yours USED to do the same which suggests it now does not. Mine did whisrle on earlier versions of railmaster but was not noticable on latest update untill reverted back from windows 10 to 8. I do not believe there is a speaker fitted to the e-link therefore i could only think it was loose transformer winding within the e-link itself. Michael_A
I suspect some whistle is normal due to the high frequencies used in DCC, and will vary depending on how components are mounted / secured. If all is working, then can't be much wrong!
