GWR Coaches

King Richard II is, I believe, in early BR express blue which was applied only between 1949 and 1952. Before that she would have carried GWR Green, and afterwards BR dark green. The blue was a fairly short lived scheme. Between that time carriages were originally GWR Chocolate and Cream (although a few were painted all over chocolate as a wartime economy measure) and then from 1949 onwards were being repainted in BR crimson lake and cream  (AKA by enthusiasts rather disgustingly as 'Blood and Custard' ). This was a transition period so both liveries were legitimate and mixed rakes were not uncommon.

The Great Western stopped using Pullmans in 1929, and they were not re-introduced by BR untl 1955, so a King in blue would not have worked Pullman trains.

Just for something different the Kings could have worked inter-regional trains between Wolverhampton to Oxford composed partially of Southern Railway carriages which would be in green. At Oxford the WR handed the train  over to the Southern Region and the train going forward behind a King Arthur or Lord Nelson class to Southampton or Portsmouth.
