Southernman777 Posted October 21, 2011 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Hi,Hornby, Bachmann & others normally supply instructions with their locomotives showing how to fit a decoder when the loco is DCC Ready. The 8 pin plug should fit as it's a standard item not like car spark plugs. Just make sure the no 1 pin goes into the no 1 socket etc and that the decoder does not contact any metal chassis parts which will cause a short and maybe damage to the decoder.If the locomotive has a 21 pin socket you will need a 21 pin to 8 pin harness which is available from your local model shop.There is a good web site that gives details (step by step) of decoder fitting & programming on Broomgove Models.
