olly
Can you use the hornby R8216 point decoders with a Gaugemaster prodigy advance DCC controller are they compatible? if they are how do you program them ?
Flashbang
HiYes it should be OK. However, the R8216 has some problems with programming, especially the Hornby Select, but it should be ok with the PA2.Please see the PA2 manual Page No 17 Item 2:11 which explains how to program a Accessory Decoder. I would personally connect the R8216 to the rails or DCC bus pair of wires (if you use a Bus pair) and power up the PA2. Leave the R8216 connected for around 60 second then move its input wires to the Programming track and programme as per the manual. Connecting the R8216 to the rails or Bus initially will allow the internal capacitors to reach a fully charge state.
