Southernman777
Hi,A standard DC controller can be used on a small or larger layout. Extension pack E brings a layout to two complete circuits and three siding (I think). A standard DC controller will be OK with this so long as you only wish to run one train at a time and consider the power feeds. You might be better using a twin DC controller - the black one with two control knobs. This would enable you to run two trains - one on each complete circuit but be careful when switching trains from the inside circuit to the outside one (and the other way round).A 'standard' DCC controller will be fine too. Hornby have two DCC controllers the Elite & Select. The Hornby Catalogue gives details of their controllers.I hope this helps. Have fun.
