Black Friday Sale

To be honest Hornby, i'm disappointed to say the least with the items in the sale, it seems to me that the sale items are things that aren't moving well under normal conditions, it would have been nice to have some of the accessories like buildings, some dcc items, if you plan to expand on the sale items then great, but if not then it truly is a poor show,

Last year, new things were added as the days progressed. Maybe the limited range on offer on Day 1 is a desire to throttle orders to a manageable level this year. If everything that was going to be offered was posted on the first day, then the panic buying starts. Check each day to see if new things are added.

.

Just a thought......

I tried posting something similar an hour ago but was timed out when replying.

Still managed a free post order with a few sapphires, a loco and the rolling road (not on sale).

With the experience from last year I'm sure Hornby will still be in trouble as stock runs out.

Of course I'd like a new TTS King in the sale but we all know that isn't going to happen.

Maybe you didn't notice mike that it's Monday. Black Friday is on ............Friday. This is just the warm up.

Plenty of time for the complaints to roll in. I think you'll find that generally Black Friday is an excuse to flog off the the things that don't sell well.

Great sale, thank you Hornby. Arnold Brighton Belle, £100 off,  Set for my lad, £70 off, Free dlivery to both france and uk. Very happy bunny. You can hardly expect them at their busiest time of the year to reduce dcc items, or any other fast moving lines. but with the other Brighton Belle set, out of stock, and if your not fussed on colour,  good saving. john

WTD, Totally agree, they had the 2 car set at same price, but the add on 3 coaches, were another £154.   Still mildly contemplating, 00, if i can find the balance on ebay, but still the Arnold set, had a very good press, and has lit Table Lamps. I thought it too good to miss. And Blue Rapier set for £49, not bad for my lad. john

Anybody know if "operating night mail" coach includes the in-track and trackside accessories (hook for hanging post bags, the post bags themselves and the collection point into which they're deposited) included?

I posted the question under the click here to submit questions & answers & while the question was published, oddly they (Hornby) haven't provided any answer.

 Hi TWD

I had one as well - round about 1956

Hi PP.  What I forgot to say is that when we put it all together we couldn't find the little post bags. We must have thrown them on the fire with the wrapping paper! So my dad goes up to Gamages straight after Christmas to complain and they broke open another set and gave him the bags out of that - how's that for customer service? We don't have open fires any more but I still carefully check all packaging before disposing of it - funny how something like that sticks in your mind all these years.

70s. As WTD said. If you go back to the product page where your question is posted and re-read the blurb there. You will see that any questions asked there are not answered by Hornby themselves, but by members of the public. So in that respect, you are better off asking your question here as you have done. Pity really, as I think there is a need to ask some product questions that are along the lines of "what do I get in the box?" directly of Hornby themselves.

.

That said, if you go to the Hattons of Liverpool product page they provide a Q&A facility that is answered by their own staff.
