More British Stuff

My area of speciality is post war British aircraft in 1/48, and I do think Airfix should concentrate on British subjects of any category.....cars, figures, AFV's, ships and of course aircraft.                                                               This doesn't mean to say to the exclusion of everything else of course, as the company has to diverge to make money to give us modellers more of the same as we've been getting lately. But, as most of the other model manufacturers concentrate mainly on there own country's produce very well (and I will exclude the excellent Czechs and to a lesser extent, the Japanese from this next statement), most other model manufacturers mess up our machinery .Look how the normally excellent Chinese manufacturers that can find the smallest screw on their own aircraft or American aircraft (for some reason), yet make a pigs ear on almost all of our aircraft (for instance Whirlwind, Lightnings 1/32 & 1/72, Hornet and to a lesser degree Vampire). As I don't make cars AFV's etc I cannot comment really on these but if they muck our aircraft up with uncanny regularity, I would think the same is possible for these too.                                                                I do think Airfix have struck a balance with the variations quite well, lots of new British, a few foriegn aircraft and the renewal of old moulds very well and all power to them for it.....just more 1/48 post war British please!
