Fox One
I would like to see some more modern aircraft of the Royal Air Force. I know that Airfix already have a Tornado, Typhoon and Tucano. Somewhere else in this forum the C130 and C17 are mentioned. I would like to see the C130, the C17, the A400M, the Sentinel, the Sentry and the RC135 Rivet Joint. I would also appreciate an F35 to compliment the Tornado and Typhoon. Finally, a Puma, Chinook and Merlin would be welcome. All of these in 1/72 please. Does anyone else agree with me? 133 Squadron
While Airfix do have a Tornado and Typhoon, they are quite elderly and not repsentative of the variants in service today. I would like Airfix to produce new tools of these soon. Otherwise I do agree with you on your suggestions. The only other thing I would add would be a P-8 Poseidon and maybe some of the larger subjects (RC-135, E-3 & Sentinel) in 1/144 also.
Braille Dave
If you can get hold of the Monogram RC135 Rivet Joint, that'll do for the RAF Air Seeker- might have to change some aerials, and add the defensive aids suite, but nothing major. Airfix did do the HC1 Puma- as the basic airframes are the same- you could convert into an HC2 without too much difficulty.
Dad Paul B
'Modern' is used flexibly. All the above are current but what about the 'not quite so modern'. I would love to see the following:RAF/FAA PhantomHunterJavelin (1/72)Canberra(1/72) various versionsBuccaneerSea VixenJaguarAnd of course Cold War vehicles
Fox One
Right. First of all thank you 133 Squadron, a new tool Tornado and Typhoon would be excellent, and I've never built a model in 1/144 before but I must try it now. And thank you Braille Dave for the suggestion about the RC135 and Puma conversion, now I've just got to find them. And last, but certainly not least, thank you Dad Paul B for the 'not so modern' aircraft. My Grandad was an engineer in the RAF, and he used to work on the Phantom, Canberra and Hunter aircraft, so I would like to see those too. Cheers to all for taking the time to reply to this Forum Section
