1/72 Cessna 0-1 Bird Dog

The only real shortcoming of this otherwise excellent kit was the windows, which were thick and distorted. The kit windscreen and rear window were used, but all the other clear parts were replaced. I also added a resin cockpit interior. Finished as a Thai aircraft.

Cessna L-19A 51-4754. From another source "Cessna L-19A s/n 51-4754 was indeed loaned to the Royal Air Force's No. 1913 Light Liaison Flight during the Korean War. It was used as a VIP transport. Althought the aircraft was not assigned a dedicated R.A.F. serial number, it was nevetheless recorded on strength with the unit as s/n 14754."

The badge on the fin is the Commonweath Brigade one. The A/C also carried it's US Army number under the wings. The UK insignia has a darker (RAF Dark Green?) panel behind it

The best picture is in an old Squadron Signal book on the Korean Air War, but a couple of others:http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb209/Davef68/cessna2_zps8d695792.jpg

I've started it twice, once abandoned due to dropping the kit and the second put on the shelf of shame until I get back to it! :-)
