Drewe Manton
For all it's age, it still looks a passable tooling to be honest. Another for the "sometime soon" retool list I reckon!
Jonathan Mock
The original Airfix tool failed sometime in the mid to late 90s. It was a constant presence in the range since it's release and payed its way in the range. Me personally, I'd love a new one, preferably a 1C. Drewe Manton
It's such an important type. Airfix still has TONS of WW2 stuff to get through in terms of retools don't they? Golden times ahead!
Fighter Pilot
With Trumpy and MPM doing one I can't see Airfix doing it any time soon.....?
Drewe Manton
With Trumpy and MPM doing one I can't see Airfix doing it any time soon.....?I could, Airfix don't really care what others do and it's their core market with inherently good exposure for a well known type. MPM is so-so and the Trumpy has limited exposure to the non enthusiast market. I reckon it'd be an obvious choice in the next couple of years
Carl Stratford
I remember this one.... mine was the infamous 'all black and glue streak' camo pattern...
david_fleming
I remember this one.... mine was the infamous 'all black and glue streak' camo pattern...I did that one too! Always loved the box art on that kit. As for a new one, both MPM and Trumpeter have serious issues with their depection of geodetic frame covered in fabric - it's like a waffle! Personally, I'd like to see an early mk I with the limited range gun mounts
Ratch
I don't mind which, just give us a new one
Jonathan Mock
With Trumpy and MPM doing one I can't see Airfix doing it any time soon.....? Airfix did polybag the MPM kit in 2007/8, as "R" for "Robert", the Loch Ness one. But I would not see the MPM or Trumpeter kits as an impediment to a (hypothetical) new Airfix one. peebeep
The fact that the old management thought it worthwhile selling another manufacturer's tooling in an Airfix box suggests it's a steady seller and worthy of a new tool. I've been saving one of the old kits for a possible V/VI conversion.
Ratch
I still have two or three old Airfix boxings in my stash - and they will get built too
