Caledonian belle derailed, now won't run on track

More information required, but it sounds like a short circuit to me. Put the loco back on the track. Turn off the controller at the plug. Wait 30 seconds. Turn it back on, and slowly turn the dial on the controller back up again. When a red loight shows on the controller the train will start to move. If/when it happens again, repeat. XYZ

Hi Hayden's Gran,

We shall probably need a bit more information.

Did the loco just fall off the rails or did it fall from a height or did someone drop it? Have any of the rails joints come apart, or the wires from the controller come loose?

A simple derailment will not usually damage a train so there is probably  another factor at work.  Connections between the rails need to be tight and the wires too. Silly question - but is it still plugged in and switched on at the wall?

Inspect the loco especially the wheels and underneath. Does it all look complete, or is there something loose or caught up in it. If you have been running it on the floor fluff can get caught up in the works. Inspect it and remove any you find with tweezers.

Come back to us if that fails.

Hi,

Sorry to hear your grandson's new train isn't running as it should!

Derailments are a common problem with most trains sets. I'm not sure if this will help, but here is an article I've found which might prevent further derailments in the future:

I hope you get everything fixed and working okay!
