LukeM
Hi there, I'm having a few dramas when racing, sometimes the cars do not register their lap when crossing the line. Any suggestions?
Tenbob
Hi had the same issues myself updated to latest firmware not a missed lap since . You need to update the firmware in the power base , slotcar.co.nz has a short video which explains what you need and how to do it ,not hard at all just need to take your time . Not totally sure but I think scalextric will also do it if you send them your powerbase .
Tomasc
After a lot of frustration and family dramas I finally worked out we have the same problem. After Christmas the kids had all selected "their" car. Then the upset starts with one or two cars in particular missing laps and not winning the race after they we clearly the first across the line. There was no pattern to the missed laps, but two of our the six cars in the Platinum Set seems to suffer more than the others. After testing out each car in different scenarios it there's no exact rule, rhyme or reason as to which car and in what situation the laps are missed. Now I see others have the same problem and it appears to be a firmware issue. It's handy to see that updated firmware can be downloaded for free but the only way to do this process appears to be to purchase a special connection cable. Then I see this is not an official version of software. The question for Hornby is, can it be right that you are selling defective firmware with your product that you are aware of and you haven't released a fix for.Could the Administrator advise if Hornby Scalextric offer any firmware upgrade service for this fault?Given the significant defect this causes I would suggest Hornby have a duty to provide a fix.
