Chrissaf Posted December 24, 2015 Share Posted December 24, 2015 If you have the Elite firmware version 1.41 or 1.42 then you can access Functions F0 to F28..When you press the Function button the first time you access F0-F9, pressing Function button again gives you F10-F19, pressing the Function button for the third time gives you F20-F28, pressing the Function button for the fourth time exits 'Function' mode. Pressing Function again restarts all over again..This is documented on page 20 & 21 of the Elite version 1.41 manual. If you do not have 1.41 or above firmware, then download and install it from the Hornby web site. Note that the firmware installer is unlikely to work on Windows 8 or 8.1, but should work on any Windows version less than W8. The download link below, also gives documented instructions on how to perform the firmware upgrade..Hornby Elite firmware download is here..If you can only access F0-F12 then you must have really old Elite firmware. Press Function button twice to put you in F10-F19 mode (F10-F19 appears in display). Now for F13 you ONLY press the number 3 button. Not 1 followed by 3. In F20 to F28 mode then ONLY press number buttons 0 to 8 to get F20 to F28..In other words, at no time is it necessary to press TWO number buttons consecutively to get a Fxx two digit number. While you can do firmware upgrades on the Elite yourself, you can't do the Select. But your Elite will have to be very old not do all the functions as Chris described to you.
