Drewe Manton Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Built this for Airfix for one of their publicity campaigns. It was a *serious* challenge to get that paint scheme done - apart from some areas of white, it was entirely masked and sprayed in terms of the union flag pattern. There may have been bad words used, but I'm pretty proud of the result! http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s463/Dmanton300/Anniversary%20Hawk/bf01_zpsgt4kzcxw.jpghttp://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s463/Dmanton300/Anniversary%20Hawk/bf02_zpsdqwvwcox.jpghttp://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s463/Dmanton300/Anniversary%20Hawk/bf03_zpsknljposm.jpghttp://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s463/Dmanton300/Anniversary%20Hawk/bf04_zpsrtq3ic8o.jpg
Jonathan Mock Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I used the decals to create masks, sprayed everything then used the decals to tighten up any areas that were a bit fuzzy.
peebeep Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I bought the BF set on a whim from one of the sales - the free postage on £30+ orders has led me astray a couple of times now. I've thought about painting the whole plot red, decalling, then mask up for the blue with Tamiya tape for curves. Is the red the same as used by the Red Arrows?
John Irwing Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 When I did mine I painted the who airframe light Grey then applied the White decals. After sealing them in with clear I then masked them and painted the primary colours then touched up where required.
