NAS57 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I regularly use 'hornbyguide.com' to look for details and parts for old models, but it seems to have disapeared and I get a "Provider error '8000ffff' - Catastrophic failure - /util_main.asp, line 16" in return. Is it just me or has the site done down?Nigel
96RAF Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Same result on my browser Nigel - looks as if its gone belly up for now, but if its a provider error maybe the site is safe, just not get-at-able. Lets hope so as it was a handy site for all sorts of 'look-fors'.
Chrissaf Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 My online site checker reports that the site is down for everybody. Probably a server fault. Usually servers that have just ceased, have some form of posted message and/or are reachable for testing purposes.
Hairy Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Just tried it and it seems that it has gone belly up again
Ruffnut Thorston Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Working for me at present... Have you tried refreshing the cache...."CTRL amd F5" buttons?
Fishmanoz Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Definitely not working for me on the iPad. Looked OK when it first came up but a refresh led to the same catastrophic failure message that has been there for days.
choralc Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 After Sarah said on and the next poster saying no. I tired and was greeted by the cat. failure. Tried it again a moent ago and I was navigating it successfully.
Ruffnut Thorston Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Still working for me...including with amd without cache refresh and navigation.... I think the site has been updated this month....possibly why it was "down"?
Jimbo1707820979 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Working for me on Win 7 (which I am loathe to abandon 😇 ) The Guide is really a fantastic feature. No avatar for me yet - how to I upload one? Have tried through "Account" but got nowhere. Maybe dim !
Chrissaf Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Jimbo, check out the Avatar post in the Forum Feedback section..Be sure to read through BOTH pages.Post 5 on page 1 plusPosts 3 & 4 on page 2.Don't forget you will have to use a photo editing application to resize your image to 100 pixels by 100 pixels (or less) for it to be accepted.
Fishmanoz Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Definitely still down from here. Went back to square 1, googled it and same failure.
choralc Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Fish, you jinxed me. Now back to cat. failure. Sigh.
Jimbo1707820979 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Derailed for me now. Hopefully back on track soon as it is so very useful. 😢
