Passenger liner the RMS Lusitania sunk by U20 in the early months of the war - made national headlines on both sides of the Atlantic...approx. 1200 casualties...but 100 years later the centenary has been pretty much ignored

Sister ship to the Mauretania (existing kit A04207) so a few simple additions or even just repackaging to produce an official Airfix product.

Suggested this towards the end of 2014.

Also suggested a scaled to match (1:600) or even a larger (cut away/revealing the interior structure option) kit of the U-boat that was involved.

It seems airfix are choosing to ignore certain parts of history on either comnercial or business grounds ....some people will no very little on the subject through lack of promotion 

 

The lusitania is a very worthy subject .....and a lovely ship aswell 

It would have been good if airfix had conciderd amongst others aquatania and Laconia aswell 

But we can but dream
