Ducky1 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I just thought I would post this information as it may help somebody who has the same problem I had, also perhaps Railmaster may want to do something about it.After updating my computer to windows 10 I received a prompt from Railmaster telling me I did not have a static IP address. I corrected this and started Railmaster again. Still I received the Static IP prompt. At this point I should explain that my computer is connected to the router via Wi-Fi. I decided to add a static IP address to the Ethernet network I was not using. I started Railmaster and the prompt did not appear. It would appear that Railmaster is checking the Ethernet network and not the one the computer is using. Ducky
RB51 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Well that explains a lot - I've been using my iPad with RM for months since the upgrade to W10 with no issues - yet RM tells me there is no Static IP set. I just keep ignoring the pop-up. R-
Augustus Caesar Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 That's an interesting one Ducky...It seems to me that RM is checking BOTH ports and requires both to be set to static and not just the single one you would expect. @Roger...Have you now sorted yours and offered static to both or are you still on the BT router we tried to sort?
RB51 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Hi AC Still on the BT router - still getting the pop-up re static IP address not set - still ignoring it - still operating just fine. R-
Augustus Caesar Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Hello again Roger my friend... Maybe BT will get their act together and realise they really ought to get things changed with a new router release so statics on local networks can be applied... then again, instead of that they have to consider the cost of buying out EE (Orange)... ...and that folk like yourself can stop getting niggly little popups. I admire your perserverence though... :-)
