pete007 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 We wait years for some new upto date MK3's and 2 Maufacturers come along at once with intentions to produce them. Looks like the Hornby ones will finally end up in the Railroad range.
AndyMac1707817969 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Only know of that one myself as it is still unclear if there are going to be any to accompany the prototype HST and those Mk3 coaches would be different from the ones that came laterHornby don't seem much interested in any passenger rolling stock that was not steam hauled. You can only assume they do not see it as a part of the market to concentrate on. I think we only got an upgraded Mk1 to fit into the steam hauled train packs. With the demise of the buffet coaches sooner or later they are going to have to do a mini buffet coach but whether that will be a new moulding or not who knows.
JeremiahBunyan Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Ok I know about Oxford who's the secondCurrently only Hornby produce Mk3 coaches, whilst they have room for improvement I think they do the job well. Oxford Rail has announced both HST and loco hauled variants and that's to a higher standard. Apart from that I think Rapido wanted to make a Mk3 set for just the HST-P. There's no confirmation of that. Just speculation. And that's no where near the general Mk.3s used today. As I understand there was a difference.
