ModelerXYZ Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Out of interest more than anything else, Would old Hornby O scale clockwork locos fit on modern O guage track eg. P**O?
LCDR Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The short answer is NO, not even on plain line. The flanges are way too deep. even pre-War and immediate post-War Bassett Lowke doesn't fit for the same reason. Then there is the problem of 'back to back' through points. Peco O Streamline is fine scale and the wing and check rails are set up for that, I think (although I haven't tried it yet) that modern Darsted and Ace coarse scale may also have a problem through Peco points. I use Tenmille narrow gauge track (0n16) in the garden* for my vintage pre/post War Hornby 'O' & Bassett Lowke. (Code 200 rail). * When I run out of genuine pre-War wood sleepers and brass rail.
