kiwitrains Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 When I have placed an order it says on that order that this can be tracked via the link below to our shipping partner or some such words, I have never been able to see this link and at the moment there seems to be two orders not arrived at there destination, being in Australia I would have thought the tracking would be very useful for a customer.
96RAF Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I have had a couple of spoof 'track your order' emails coincident with placing real orders, but noted the carrier was different to the one the supplier said they were using And they came the same day as my parcel had arrived. the spoof said the supplier had given the wrong delivery details and that I should click the link (in this case to an IP in .za) and enter my correct info. obviously they go straight in the bin, but just be careful if you are expecting a parcel and you get one of these.
BailieGate Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I had the same issue, rang customer services to moan & suggest they include this infomation upon distibution. The helpful lad on the end of the phone immediately checked on progress & advised of a precise delivery time within a one hour window, which the carrier successfully achieved. So in this instance worth the cost of the call.
Wobblinwheel Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I don't know what has happened to Hornby's shipping. When I first started purchasing from Hornby, over two years ago, my stuff arrived in the US within a week, always in good shape. My last order, made in early Dec., took about three weeks, and the package arrived in shreds. Thankfully, nothing damaged. No tracking availlable, as the "link" did not work (no "tracking number" provided). I have still not gotten a reply from an email inquiry I sent in mid December...Hatton's has solved all those problems for me.
