LCDR
I am going to post a picture in a moment. I posted the same one over the weekend but somehow it seems to have gone astray. If it appears twice then I do apologise!

It is a Knightwing plastic diesel shunter kit married to a Farish 0-6-0 shunter chassis.

96RAF
Nice little loco LC and I also like your hand-nailed three rail track. That must be as labour intensive to lay as the prototype was.
walkingthedog
Silly question. Is 009 sort of OO scale running on N gauge track LC? OO scale narrow gauge.
LCDR
Never a silly question WTD. If you don't know, never be afraid to ask! OO9 is OO scale (4mm to one foot) on 9mm gauge (N) track. It computes to 2 feet 3 inch gauge , but many people ignore the odd mm and use it for anything from 2 foot to 2 foot 6 inch gauge. My preferred scale os 2 foot 3 inch gauge which is right for 9mm track of course, but also is the gauge of the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway amongst others. RAF - that is how 90% of my garden railway is constructed, except that it also has proper sleepers nailed to longitudinal battens. The whitemetal chairs are secured with tiny brass pins, which ensures they last a bit longer outdoors. Rail is brass. 10% of the garden line is laid with modern plastic based On32 track.
