Yelrow
Hi, RAF, kindly posted how to identify points with Elite, without having to use RM. I have just moved 5 existing ones, and whilst i think i writ it all done, at my age, things go amiss. Having wired them in new locations, want to A make sure they are the number i think they are, and B, test fire them. I have looked / read the manual, but ita all greek/ cyprus to me, AND I HAVE MISPLACED PREVIOUS NOTE FROM RAF. Thanks. john
96RAF
@JohnFor starters the accessory decoders will have kept the same addresses as they have before so the simple way is use the Elite to select them in turn and note down which ones move at each address. Then you have two choices - either live with the new addresses or reprogram them to suit. To actually find out by reading them what each acc decoder address is you would have to unwire them and connect to a Prog track - probably not what you want to do, but I will describe it anyhow:With acc decoder on the Elite Prog terminals press Menu, turn knob to show ACC.Prress knob to show Direct, press knob to show Address,turn knob to show CV, press knob to show CV Write, turn knob to show READPress knob to show CV001R. Lights will flash, relays will click and you will get a value which is the GROUP address.What this means as a ppoint address please see this tableGroup Allocated Group Allocated Group AllocatedNumber # Range Number # Range Number # Range1 1-4 22 85-88 43 169-1722 5-8 23 89-92 44 173-1763 9-12 24 93-96 45 177-1804 13-16 25 97-100 46 181-1845 17-20 26 101-104 47 185-1886 21-24 27 105-108 48 189-1927 25-28 28 109-112 49 193-1968 29-32 29 113-116 50 197-2009 33-36 30 117-120 51 201-20410 37-40 31 121-124 52 205-20811 41-44 32 125-128 53 209-21212 45-48 33 129-132 54 213-21613 49-52 34 133-136 55 217-22014 53-56 35 137-140 56 221-22415 57-60 36 141-144 57 225-22816 61-64 37 145-148 58 229-23217 65-68 38 149-152 59 233-23618 69-72 39 153-156 60 237-24019 73-76 40 157-160 61 241-24420 77-80 41 161-164 62 245-24821 81-84 42 165-168 63 249-

96RAF
Sorry about the table format John but I don't have an edit button to even attempt to put it right, but I reckon you can work it out - reading the first line that has been royally spoilt (shall we say)Group Number Allocated ports1 1-42 5-83 9-12etc22 85-88etc43 169-172etc The table is on page 59 of the latest Elite manual...Rob
96RAF
Sorry about the triple post people but this lack of an edit facility is a serious drawback when you over post by mistake.
Yelrow
Hi, thanks, thanks, thanks, but i have no need to unwire, as all is unplugged, i have simply moved point motors, by extending the wires, so in theory, when plugged in, all should still be ok. The bit i want to know is what to press on the elite to identify, each motor, and test them. Eg no 5 now lengthened and re located, etc etc. Tis only for 5, the other 8, still work as before. Does that clarify. Sorry if unclear, heather is unwell and i am having to enter foreign terratory, or similar, this new room , i think she calls the kitchen, and work a machine, which washes things, another first. All very un nerving, and then she wants me to make the bed. We have 2 spare ones ready made upstairs, but my protests are to no avail. Given all this stress, you will understand, how much i need to get away and play points. john
96RAF
I appreciate your predicament John. I am without the 'maid' for the next few weeks as she is in UK. Beds - you will run out of spares in the end and have to make them up properly at some stage. Points - as you are using the same acc decoders then just use the Elite to select a point and see which one moves. To move a point using the Elite Press Acc button, then either type in a point number or rotate any knob to the required number, then click it. At later revision state the Elite's left knob moves a point one way and right knob moves it the other way.
