the F-111C dude
how do you hang a model without wearing the paint off.
Ratch
Why would the paint wear off? Some of mine have been hanging for over 10 years and none have paint worn off.

jopres57
I think if models are on the ceiling they will suffer a lot more from dust and sunlight than from the hanging. My models hang from two loops of cotton; it's easy to change the position of the cotton every time they are taken down for dusting.
Dad Paul B
I favour nylon monofilament (otherwise known as fishing line). 2 or 3 pound breaking strain is fine. Tie it into a loop using a reef knot (or a double reef knot) and apply selotape to the knot. For small kits a single loop twisted into a figure 8 is fine. Large kits will need 2 separate loops fixed some distance apart. A few planes, particularly tailless deltas, are harder to hang as there may be little fuselage to work with.Aircraft can be posed if you adjust the loop length. Some of my examples are below./media/tinymce_upload/4004663de982598033a356a34fc64ca9.JPGVulcan - a tricky hang this one as the rear fuselage is short and the tail limits banking options./media/tinymce_upload/058c17e69714d48723a82abdd6b78677.JPGValiant with Vulcan and the Vampire T.11 in the background. The latter worked better with the loops around the wings using the fuel tanks for stability./media/tinymce_upload/94213fd03efb2b04f4044d14068da9ed.JPGHe-111They do need dusting every week but this way works fine if you lack display cabinet space and dogfights can be staged or formations created. Be warned - some posters are quite dismissive of this approach. I wouldn't worry about any negative postings. Everyone works with the space they have and looks they like.
