Ozzy_734
I recently purchased a bottle of humbrol Matt Cote. I have put thinners with it and shook it will before use, however after I spray my model (with an airbrush) and let it dry, it appears to be shiny! Can someone help please
Simon Norton1707820138
You need to thoroughly stir it to make sure the matting agent is well mixed with the varnish. Shaking by itself isn't enough.
John Symmons
Hi Ozzy 374.You are not alone with this problem as it's been asked many times just troll through the forums. It seems Humbrol has this problem with it's matt varnish, I've even had it myself and I stirred it with an electric stirrer and it still came out not totally matt but like a dull satin finish. I now use Vallejo matt varnish which is water based and doesn't seem to have a matting agent in it. ( See my post on the 1/72 Mosquito XVIII and Ju 52 build in the aircrft forum)Hope this helps. Remember we do this for fun John the Pom.
beko
Heya,Let me add my 3 cents: I'm quite new to the modelling world.Did you mean this:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vallejo-Model-Color-Liquid-Varnish/dp/B002Z8F2R6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1468332861&sr=8-2&keywords=vallejo+matte+varnish? I've been searching for something to add a "protective layer" to the plane model I've just put together. However, with limited both experience and English vocabulary in that field ;) I prefer to make sure before choosing a product. I've read so many complaints at bad products ruining people's models...
