DCC Chip not recognized.

I am having trouble with the DCC chip in my CO-CO Class 47 Lindisfarne Loco that came with my Majestic & elink set. It has previously stopped working because it lost its 'address'. To day again it stopped working so I tried to check its address and found that the Rail Master program identified the chip as "Regal Way Co. Ltd" and CV addresses were "Unobtainable". Any suggestions?

This is from the FAQ section

"Question: I've made lots of changes to the settings on my decoder, how can I reset it?

To reset the chip to its original "factory" settings, the value "8" needs to be written to CV 8. An Elite controller is required to perform this action. Instructions on how to do this are on page 35 of the Elite instruction manual."

Can this be done with an elink?

.

Yes......its just another loco decoder CV writing process just like any other CV write using RM and eLink.

I have found that RM often fails to recognise a 'known' decoder 1st time around, but that a second try usually works especially if you hold the loco down on the programming track.

As stated above try a decoder reset as well.
