Jimbo1707820979
Hello AllJust thought I would warn of possible dire consequences (decoder burn-out) when using the Gaugemaster GM60, base on my recent nasty experience.I was cleaning the wheels of my newly acquired "Lion", using 2 xGM60 clipped together, as recommended to accommodate a longer loco. Suddenly there was bright spark. Yikes ! Turns out that the "bright spark" wasn't me ! 🤐 and I must have caused a short-circuit through careless handling. Easy to do with a multiple wheeled engine. The GM60 is an excellent bit of kit which I have found really convenient. But be careful if you are cleaning a CoCo or similar with a bunch of wheels as the wheels sometimes not easy to see behind the skirting, or whatever it's called. poliss
I use the Tsugawa Yokou wheel cleaner. Smooth, not scratchy. Gaugemaster sell it as the GM50 for 00 gauge.
96RAF
I have a GM60 and so far I have never seen that problem but I can see how the brass brushes could short on any vulnerable areas of the loco.
