cowside
As I can't find a Hornby GWR 45xx tank I bought a Bachmann version, and fitted the Hornby R8249 decoder. This engine is not on the Railmaster list so I have selected it as a GWR 51xx tank. The 45xx works fine, but the scale speeds are wrong - for example, 50mph seems like a crawl. I suspect this is because Railmaster settings are based on the 51xx having bigger wheels. Any ideas what settings to use for the 45xx? I have no problems programming the CV parameters if that is what is needed!
walkingthedog
Can you find a loco with similar sized wheels.
Chrissaf
Look in the current version 1.64 RM manual page 36. The bottom half of the page discusses the option to set scale speeds for non Hornby locos. If you amend (via experimentation) the "Time to travel..........." distance setting. This may give you the effect on speed you are after. This is a RM setting, so does not AFAIK require CVs to be changed.
