2e0dtoeric
Not directly from Hornby. Have a look on the Loksound or Youchoos websites. You'll be looking at a £100 or so spend for it.

mjb1961
Hi ,,,is the anniversary hst bi-motored ,I E ,,both cars powered ? If they are you will need 2 sound decoders apparently ,in the last week I've noticed on eBay Olivia's of Sheffield have been advertising sound decoders and one of them was the TTS from the virgin hst which is a set of 2 sound decoders ,1 for each end ,I think the price was £120 ,for the 2 ,you'll find them on eBay or you could call them ,,mjb
JMan
Thanks mjb,I dont think both cars are powered as one is much heavier than the other. I might be wrong but I thought that I would need two decoders, one for control and the second for sound.
choralc
JM, the one sound decoder for your loco (if only one motor as you believe for the weight difference) does both jobs, i.e. controls the loco and provides the sound to the speaker. Hilux59721707820819
The current HST has one power car and one dummy car. A decoder is required in both. One To control the motor and lights in the powered car, and one to control the lights in the dummy car. If you want sound at one end only then you can keep a standard decoder In one of the cars. You can however have sound at both ends if you so wish. Check out eBay and RMWeb for TTS sound decoders that people have removed from the Virgin HST set. You may well get your self a bargain.
