Norwegian Trainset
Is it possible to use the R8206 and the R8213 together? At the moment the R8206 is coupled to a R965. Should I cut the leads and refasten to R8213?
Howbi
The R8206 is the analogue power track and contains a small capacitor inside the plasic cover which should be removed if you intend to go DCC..........then you can connect the Select controller which should have it's own dedicated connector lead...........you should not need to cut the lead off the R965 because then it becomes useless, it is often useful to check and run-in a new loco on DC before fitting a decoder and converting to DCC...HB
Flashbang
Using the Analogue power clip or the Analogue power track section with DCC will cause erratic running, so you need to do as stated and remove the capacitor from inside these DC clips or power track sections when used with DCC.It should also be noted that on no account should a DC (Analogue) controller ever be connected to a track fed from a DCC controller. One or both systems will suffer terminal damage if both are connected to the same rails
