Cyclemingleton
Hi All, I have an old R8215 Hornby decoder which I want to use to switch lights on/off. I need to use Function 4 to do so (compatibility issues with something else). Does any one know how to allocate one of the 4 on/off functions to be operated by the function 4 key, and if so, apart from the black and red which must be the power pickups, which other wire colours are the +ve and -ve to the light. Thank you
Flashbang
HiA decoder uses the Blue wire as a common Positive feed to all functions. For a fourth function to operate as a lighting only decoder you would need the Violet wire as the negative to the item to be lit (Max rating is 100milliamp) and the Blue wire.Note the White and Yellow wires are directionally controlled and turned On/Off by the F0 key.The green wire is the third function and is turned On/Off by the F1 key.Function four is normally turned On/Off via the F2 button. You cannot remap functions in the Hornby R8215 or the R8249 decoders. All functions share the Common Blue (positive) wire.
