Hi folks..the hammant and morgan commander...does it fit into the opposite side of the clipper to the multipack and i presume its the 16c vertical plugs as opposed to the multipacks horizontal plugs..furthermore..what's the difference netween the commnder and the multipack. and third question....can it be used to run a third circuit whilst connected tho the clipper and its multipack. Sorry for the 3 rapidfire questions but the lads on the model rail forum all loked but stayed very quiet!

The front of the H&M Clipper should state the type of current at the sockets. A second controller will require 12V DC uncontrolled, unless it has a built in rectifier. All older H&M units usually state on the front panel the output or input required.

If you are still stuck, please post pictures of all the units, showing  the front panel and sockets.

Ah ha, I wasn't aware you were bidding on it, I'd assumed you had one already. Funnily enough I hadn't encountered a 'Commander' before, but all the old grey H&M stuff I have used in the past always had the instructions for connections printed on them.

Yes . It seems to have clipped into the opposite side of the clipper to the multipack and was a transistorised unt. In hindsight maybe better not to try and push the old clipper to its limits with 2 slaves and the new hornby controller seems to be ok on the interior circuit. I just fancied the idea of running the lot from the one unit
