What colour do i paint the vision blocks on a cromwell tank ?

Pesonally, I paint them in matt black.

I prefer to paint them in a dark blue, as it looks kind of 'glassy' from a short distance.

I paint them in dark blue or black and may add a gloss varnish layer or a thin transparent plastic strip.

1/76 (and 1/72  😇 ) scale I'd just use a very dark gloss blue.

If you look at colour photos of tanks the vision blocks usually appear black.  Real ones are designed to be non-reflective so they do not spoil camouflage.

There's always the o;d trick of running a 2B or softer pencil across the vision port. Gives a semi reflective finish that could be glass with a dark interior, and it's cheap.
