airfixian Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 What colour do i paint the vision blocks on a cromwell tank ?
Carl Stratford Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I prefer to paint them in a dark blue, as it looks kind of 'glassy' from a short distance.
nmcabecadas Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I paint them in dark blue or black and may add a gloss varnish layer or a thin transparent plastic strip.
Kenneth ONeill Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 1/76 (and 1/72 😇 ) scale I'd just use a very dark gloss blue.1/35 scale I'd agree with @Ratch .
Alan Hamilton Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 If you look at colour photos of tanks the vision blocks usually appear black. Real ones are designed to be non-reflective so they do not spoil camouflage.
John Symmons Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 There's always the o;d trick of running a 2B or softer pencil across the vision port. Gives a semi reflective finish that could be glass with a dark interior, and it's cheap.Remember we do this for fun John the Pom
