IAmNew
Hi there,I want to add a circular element to my layout. Currently I have an R8072, of which the stem joins onto the rest of the track. Also a circuference of no more that 66cm is desirable. The two split tracks I would like to be the two ends of this to be the ends of the loop. Any ideas? Thanks
2e0dtoeric
You need another 8072 facing the other way, plug the two curved ends together. Then you want another full circle of track (with straights?)BUT be warned, when the points are set for straight through, there will be no power going to the inner circle. To make that work, you need some insulatng rail joiners, and another controller - connected to the inner circle.See Chrissaf's multiply repeated advice on extension packs.66cm/26" is very tight, and very few loco's will go round that, other than the very small shunting engines. Conqui98
Hi IAmNew, I currently myself am designing my track layout. I posted yesterday asking about how best to design it. I was tld about a couple of softwares, SCARM and AnyRail. I have downloaded SCARM (free) and it is a very good piece of kit, if you're having trouble, maybe download something similar and have a play about on it. The parts library contains all track parts and are labelled by the Hornby part numbers for easy recognition.Hope this helps.
