Daz1966
Seasons greetings all, Santa was escpecially good to me this year, 2 new locos in the engine shed,B17 Gilwell Park and the Gloss finish Flying Scotsman and support coach (I know I'm a lucky boy) however whilst running my new stock my PC suddenly died, It appears a system board failure, my question is how to I de-register my Railmaster so I can reinstall it onto my new laptop, obviously I cant boot my old PC up to do it the normal way, I have pulled the HDD from my old PC and have copied the Railmaster folder so I can retain my previous settings.Any help would be greatly appreciated, best regards Daz
RDS
The best option is to email RailMaster Support directly on:support@rail-master.comGive them as much information as you can to enable them to find your registration details. They will de-register it from your old PC, so that you can start again on your new PC.
Chrissaf
When you get your replacement PC. Install the very latest version of RM from the link at the top of the forum RailMaster section. This will install RM in evaluation mode. Then in the help section within RailMaster use the support help request form to request your activation key to be reset. You need to include the activation key number allocated to you and your original registering email address, your name and address. These are required to prove who you are and that you are not trying to register RailMaster as another user (i.e as if you had bought it secondhand from another previous user), these details must match the details you provided the very first time you activated RM. If the supplied details match those that are on the HRMS database, then the key will be reset and you will be able to activate the key again on the new replacement PC. If they don't match then you will have to convince HRMS that you are the original purchaser....thus this may take longer to progress. It is a wise move to keep a record of what you entered originally for these eventualities..PS - A manual request to HRMS to deactivate your key is not an auto-process. Thus it won't happen instantly, the same way it would happen if you were using the official within RailMaster deactivation process. Of course, you can't use the within RailMaster deactivation process because your original PC is kaputt..When you do get your new PC up and running and an activated copy of RM installed. Please DO NOT copy over the WHOLE contents of your old RM folder recovered from your old drive. To do so, is likely to corrupt the new installation and give you loads of issues. Only copy over the individual files named on Page 132 of the RailMaster manual, plus optionally your "railmaster.ini" file if it contains previous manually made changes. Fishmanoz
When you first install from the link, make sure your controller, eLink or Elite, is connected to the computer with its USB and switched on as that will ensure all the correct settings are included in your ini file. Then you might compare with your old one to see if you have added any other extra lines, or changed some of their defaults.
