nevermore
Ok so i am looking at putting a program/service track on the layout or use a seperate section for this.wondering the best way to do this, can i use a power clip to connect from the control station to the track rather than soldering the wires on the track itself? Flashbang
HiYes you can use a Digital power clip or a Digital power track section. If you only have analogue clip or power track section its essential to open up the cover and cut out the little capacitor inside (brown/orange coloured disc shaped device with two wires.) But by far the best is to solder the two wires to the rails outer web area or to the rails underside. Edit to remove R numbers!
Fishmanoz
Not just a brown/orange disc, I've seen rectangular blue. Whatever is in there, remove it. And your program track must be isolated from the main track by insulated joiners on each rail, or completely separate. Some like to use a double pole double throw Centre off switch so they can swap between program and track power.
