86219
I have a TTS HST which has suddenly stopped working on my layout. It functions when placed on the programming track and I am able to change CVs and reset the decoder, but it is still unresponsive when placed back on the layout. Other DCC locos are still working correctly on the layout which is controlled by a Roco Z21. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
96RAF
Check that you have 128 speed steps set.
86219
Thanks for the suggestion. I checked both controller and decoder and both were set to 128 steps but the power car was still unresponsive. I then removed the power car, turned it round and placed it back on the track and it started working, including sound. However, if placed back on the track in the original orientation it became unresponsive again. Rotating through 180 degrees again and the power car came back to life. Any idea why the orientation should make a difference?
2e0dtoeric
Mucky wheels, pick-ups, or track?
Fishmanoz
Not surprised speed steps were 128 as you told us you reset the decoder and 128 is default. Which way around on the on the track makes no difference to DCC so agree with 2e0.
