96RAF Posted February 28, 2017 Share Posted February 28, 2017 There are sèveral ways to connect a booster to your layout, check the manual. Using the boost terminals of your Elite (if that is what you use) controller is the least preferred method. Discuss this later if necessary. A booster only connects to a separate electrically isolated section of your layout. These are known as power districts. It does NOT just connect to the other end of the layout to provide a bit more power to the existing electrical loop. Connecting it directly like this will damage your controller. You must understand what a booster does and how it does it. The rule of thumb is that if your layout fills both car spaces of a double garage you may want to think about a booster, else it is probably not necessary.
