that_guy_who_likes_trains
I have two pieces of power track: one with orange connectors (R8206) and another one with green connectors (R8241). I understand that the orange power track is for analogue track and the green one is for digital track. I don't use digital controls I've stuck with the old fashioned analogue control (with the Hornby Standard Controller), but what I don't understand is that I have three locos that aren't not DCC ready that run much better on the digital track than they do on the analogue. My engines seem to be able to run quicker with the digital track and run a bit slower with the analogue track despite not having any digital influence. This isn't a problem, I just would like to know why this is and is it worth getting another set of digital power track if it runs my non DCC engines better. walkingthedog
The digital connector hasn't got a capacitor fitted. Shouldn't make any difference to the running I'd have thought. Maybe the connection is better, tighter rail joiners for instance. If you can solder the power leads to the rails, don't use a connector.
