Hi all

I've misplaced some of my Hornby Class 43 HST boxes and bodies

Does anyone have any of these?

I'm particularly after a Cross Country R2949 HST box, and a East Midlands R2948 Power car body. Will of course pay for these plus postage.

I'm also after GNER, East Coast, Grand Central bodies and all other retooled HST bodies and boxes

Thanks!

It is a general rule that no direct buying or selling can take place on the forum, but you are allowed to reference out to places of sale unless they are a direct link to your own sales area say on eBay or on-line shop if you have one.

Such links could be to Peters Spares or Rails of Sheffield, Hattons, etc linking to a Hornby product that the Hornby site shop may not sell or be out of stock of at present.

That is why there is no Sales/Wants section on the forum. Also there are legal implications for Hornby if there was such a facility.

If necessary then Admin would have to write this more clearly into the rules.

The no selling / buying rule is covered by this one circled in red. Because to facilitate a buying / selling transaction it is necessary to publish personal contact information.

I thought it was very clear.  How can you buy sell without breaking that rule. Plus this is a Hornby forum so how could they be seen in anyway to sell or aloud to be sold the competitions, product even if second hand.

At one time, in either the forum rules or the posting guidelines, it did say no buying or selling.  I think it would be a good idea to have it made clearer whether selling is allowed or not.

Hi everyone.

I meant no offence by posting here. I simply offered money because I thought it was fair and because I did not see it being against the rules, albeit the personal information rule does somewhat cover this.

I can only therefore humbly request if someone has a Cross Country HST box and an East Midlands body going away for free, I would really appreciate it. Instead of exchange of personal information, I can donate a set sum to your chosen charity if that is still within the rules?

Thanks

The trouble is personal details need to be pass to one another.  Have you tried RMweb or Modelrailwayforum both have sections were you can sell/buy without breaking any rules.  And most on here tend to be on one or the other sites.

I have lots of boxes for Virgin East Coast Class 43s. Tried selling these on eBay for £7.50 each. The title did say 'BOX ONLY'. I know better than to just send these out without contacting the buyer first. Everyone got cancelled after realising it didn't include the 43s themselves.

Just to add to Eric's comment. If you look at Hamish_B's posting history (click his name) you will see that ALL his posts are between 23rd Dec 2016 and 10th March 2017. The chances that he is even going to see the question post by Scottishhornbyman is very remote indeed.

.

Before wasting time resurrecting these old posts it might be more prudent to research the posting history to see if the member in question is still currently active on the forum.
