Spireblade
Just one simple question, probably asked before. Why is it there? If it actually worked it would be quite useful. Switching the mains power off after every slight fault gets a bit wearing. Thanks
Chrissaf
It is used by the Hornby Sapphire Loco Decoder for one of its enhanced features. AFAIK, it has no other function.
Spireblade
Thanks Chris, not having any Sapphire decoders I wouldn't have known. It just looks like a dummy on/off switch. There's just something that dosen't seem right about having to switch off at the mains every time. I hope there is a decent power surge protector built into the Elite. Rog RJ
In earlier firmware versions the on/off switch was used, IIRC, to toggle functions on and off.
Chrissaf
Tracked down the reference to the Elite 'On/Off' button in the Elite 1.41 and above user guide. It is used to turn on & off the Sapphire decoder 'Fuel Simulation' feature../media/tinymce_upload/67af6f3f7d4810980aa320b5035d2d55.jpg.In the pre 1.41 Elite user guide. The 'On/Off' button was used to toggle the last selected 'Function'. As Rog said in reply above../media/tinymce_upload/4728eb000a355d0160af4a3be235cef1.jpg.
