D4NM Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 A red arrow hawk 1/24 scale would be good and i can see itr being quite popular.
Kenneth ONeill Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Especially since the diesel dye tank and pipes are the only "Arrows" parts that aren't applicable to every Hawk T1, so there's a whole list of other ways it could be offered.
O1707820202 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 This could be good, although I suspect too hard to make a T-45 Goshawk from it?
nmcabecadas Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 If a model is engineered with the intention of making several versions, may not bee too difficult as optional parts are made apart. This require careful planning and add some extra costs to the process, but in the end may represent a bigger profit because more kits can be sold.
Kenneth ONeill Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 This could be good, although I suspect too hard to make a T-45 Goshawk from it?The biggest issue with "Hawk T1" -> T-45 is going to be the different aft fuselage to accomodate the completely different airbrakes I think. Certainly I've seen conversions to T-45s using Hawk nosewheel bays and the twin nosewheel doesn't look "too wide".The Hawk 200 series are single-seaters, hence they have a different front fuselage, so engineering tools to allow them could allow a different aft fuselage for the T45.Also, according to Wikipedia, there are now 3 different wings on Hawk variants!
Dad Paul B Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 The Hawk would make a great 1/24 subject - and how about a Gnat to go with it. I think the WW2 boys have too much of a monopoly of the big scale planes and the Jets deserve their place in the sun (there is a Harrier AV8A/Matador/GR3 in this scale but there are plenty of possible Cold War subjects worthy of inclusion. If they can make a Mosquito then a Lightning or even Canberra must be feasible.
