If a model is engineered with the intention of making several versions, may not bee too difficult as optional parts are made apart. This require careful planning and add some extra costs to the process, but in the end may represent a bigger profit because more kits can be sold.

This could be good, although I suspect too hard to make a T-45 Goshawk from it?

The biggest issue with "Hawk T1" -> T-45 is going to be the different aft fuselage to accomodate the completely different airbrakes I think. Certainly I've seen conversions to T-45s using Hawk nosewheel bays and the twin nosewheel doesn't look "too wide".

The Hawk 200 series are single-seaters, hence they have a different front fuselage, so engineering tools to allow them could allow a different aft fuselage for the T45.

Also, according to Wikipedia, there are now 3 different wings on Hawk variants!

The Hawk would make a great 1/24 subject - and how about a Gnat to go with it. I think the WW2 boys have too much of a monopoly of the big scale planes and the Jets deserve their place in the sun (there is a Harrier AV8A/Matador/GR3 in this scale but there are plenty of possible Cold War subjects worthy of inclusion.

If they can make a Mosquito then a Lightning or even Canberra must be feasible.
