TechImp
A foolish question perhaps - but most decoders can be downloaded with new sound files or renewed originals. Is this possible with Hornby TTS decoders? I have searched the forums with no success.
Rog RJ
No, the sounds they come with is what you are stuck with.
TechImp
Thank you RJ - unless the question is asked one is never sure. Am I correct in assuming that sound decoder brands (including Hornby) use generic sounds of a class of loco rather than individual loco sounds? Rog RJ
Some do, some don't. Some are recorded from the real, still running, loco. Where there is no existing loco to record from they may use a similar type with the sound files manipulated to sound as near correct as possible.
