Chrissaf
You wrote:"I recently cured my communication problem by purchasing a high speed USB cable.".With regard to your original communication problem, were you getting communication error messages saying something like "Unplug USB lead and reconnect" and the like. If you were, then this is a well documented issue and probably nothing to do with the quality of your USB lead..The likelihood is that there are a couple of critical communication entries in your RailMaster .INI file that need amending or adding if missing..However to advise further what action to take. We need to know what version of Windows and what controller (Elite or eLink) you are using with RailMaster..Having the wrong .INI entries is highly likely to affect your ability to read and write CVs. Although there are other reasons why read and write problems sometimes occur..As well as answering the questions posed above. Please also do this:.In the RM 'Help' page (? icon in top navigation bar) you will find a small bluish 'COG' icon in the bottom left corner. Click it and follow on screen prompts. This will open your "railmaster.ini" file in an edit window..Place your mouse cursor in the window at the beginning of the text (top line).Hold the keyboard 'Control' key and press A ( this will select all the text contents in the window). Now keeping the 'Control' key held, press C (this will copy the highlighted text to your clipboard). Now use 'Control' and the V key to paste those contents into your Hornby forum reply post..By posting the contents of your .INI file back here, it will be easier to advise you on what to do next.
