Class 08
I was wondering if you can colour the black plastic frog on the points with a silver pen to make it look more realistic and if it would cause problems? It would be a Dcc layout. Sorry if this has been asked before.
Jeff Mennell
What about Humbrol Metalcote 27002. One of my favourite enamels. Very realistic, covers well and retains it's pigment. I use any excuse to use it!
96RAF
As long as the paint or pen isn't conductive, else you risk shorts.

Jeff Mennell
I should have mentioned that the name of Metalcote 27002 is 'Polished Aluminium'.
GeoFF03
While painting the frogs may look good for a while, I'm not sure how durable the paint will be if you run trains a lot. It could end up like painting the Forth Bridge, a never ending task requiring frequent repaints.
Class 08
I personally wouldn't mind, plus it'll keep me mucking about with my layout
