richard shea
This is is my effort to recreate a Lightning Servicing Flight using the Airfix 1/72 Lightning and a CMK resin engine insert. Various other bits and pieces are from other kit makers but the hangar, lifting jacks, folded A frame steps, spare engine & trolley and second engine on the underside are all scratchbuilt. It's not built to be an exact replica but draws on inspiration from photos and my own experience of working in an ASF (Nimrods in my case). The first photo is the inspiration./media/tinymce_upload/67ae0217d6c24b573f6f7b93b536d75c.JPGBelow is the result./media/tinymce_upload/ef9df9728a5da9735dbe49a2effc03cf.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/25d2381b46016c90c7d32546a733d8c8.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/de43d00a61317964b2d657766b1b6c0b.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/a8bb173aecdd3a9839ed7d6bf5998fdc.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/5442180e168364fe8af070d15e3a1144.JPG

Kenneth ONeill
I'm another one who thinks this is great, except for being far too tidy and maybe missing any racks for tool control.
DavidJC
Can't say much more really, beautiful build and the sort of thing I want to be able to achieve yet never will do.
aeroplanegripper
Outstanding, I especially like the debris left on the roof of the portacbain! The Lightning isnt bad either! Well done.
dabhand
Super diaroma. Reminds me of visits made to RAF stations when I was an Air Cadet. Replaced an internal spacer on a Phantom FGR2 once. Green it was. Supervised I was!
snibble
Lovely model, well done. Nice to see figures NOT still standing on square plinths, why do people do that?
