RDS Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 Hi folks, been looking online for a retaining wall. 8-9cm tall. To go on other side of track opposite station(standard hornby type platform sections) Any opinions on what is best, easiest, most realistic etc. Thanks. Ed
Jeff Mennell Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I have just finished making some Wordsworth Card kit retaining walls (http://www.wordsworthmodelrailway.co.uk/railside.html), and found them to be very effective. They are free but you do need a colour printer. I would suggest you apply Matt varnish when finished as printer ink is unstable and will fade quickly without it. Also if the print were to get wet it runs and goes a bit 'funny'.
Bulleidboy Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I have built a number of Metcalfe Retaining Walls in the stone finish. They are very easy to build, and look good when finished. I am currently building a four foot run, that will have concealed LED lighting in each arch. This walling will run down the side of my fiddle yard - with the backscene and the walling it looks a little more scenic.http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/Bulleidboy/100_0534_zpswursv8jc.jpg
